Combine
Back-To-School Shopping with a Family Weekend Getaway in
Springfield, Missouri
The
back-to-school sales are on and that means it’s time to get
your kids the latest,
greatest in
fashion and school supplies – and have a last blast of summer
fun before classes begin.

A great place
to do both is Springfield, Missouri, a regional shopping hub
featuring hundreds of stores and plenty of fun activities for
kids and adults.
Begin the
shopping at
Battlefield Mall, southwest Missouri’s largest
shopping center with more than 150 specialty stores and anchors
such as JC Penney, Dillard’s, Macy’s and Sears. Or if your kids
are the outdoor type, check out the selection of outdoor wear at
Bass Pro Shops® Outdoor World®.
Along with
those shopping destinations, Springfield offers hundreds of
specialty stores at more than 30 shopping centers throughout the
city, including Primrose Marketplace, the Galleria, Battlefield
Marketplace, the Brentwood Center and The Plaza to name a few.
There’s enough
shopping available in Springfield to
shop ‘til
you drop, but don’t wear
yourself out! After the shopping is done, take in some of
Springfield’s family-friendly
attractions, including
Dickerson Park Zoo,
Animal Paradise, the
Discovery Center,
Fantastic Caverns and many others. The kids
will think those activities are for
entertainment before they have to hit the books. What they don’t
know is you’ll be getting them primed to learn as, indeed, they
will
learn about
nature, history and more
while exploring
the city’s attractions.
Once the
shopping excursion is done and classes are under way, keep
Springfield in mind for fall events. Just a few coming up
include:
